Absorption is a state where attention is completely merged with its object, to the point where the subject-object distinction dissolves.Key Teachings
- There are two types: savikalp samadhi (with form/activity) and nirvikalp samadhi (without form, pure awareness).
- Absorption is not the goal of the Path of Knowledge - abidance in the experiencer is the goal. Absorption can be a byproduct.
- It is known by many names and there are many opinions about it.
