Ignorance (Skt. अज्ञान, Agyaan) is incorrect formation of Logical Relations in the Memory. Or it is formation of illogical relations in the memory.

Ignorance can also be defined as an absence of Right Knowledge | right knowledge or a corruption of Knowledge.

Ignorance can be seen as a kind of knowledge, which is false.

When both ignorance and knowledge are absent, one can call that state as innocence.

Ignorance can be of many kinds, depending on any of these reasons:

Beliefs

Assumptions

Theory|Theories

Indoctrination

Ideas that are assumed to be true in the absence of any Evidence|evidence constitute ignorance. Ignorance can lead to incorrect behaviour, odd or unnecessary behaviour and it is the root cause of Suffering|suffering and Bondage.
