Nothingness (Skt. अनास्तित्व Anastitva) is the concept of absence or void.

Existence is not nothing, however it is empty and yet it is everything.

Nothingness is impossible, as the statement - there is nothing is already something. So it is self-evident that there cannot be nothingness.

Nothingness is often confused with emptiness, which simply means having no qualities or substances.
