Polarity (Skt. द्वंद्व, Dvandva) is the quality of having two opposite poles or aspects.

On the path of knowledge, polarity is:

• A fundamental characteristic of vibration (binary state change)

• The basis of duality in experience

• The source of all opposites (hot/cold, pleasure/pain, up/down)

• Transcended in nonduality

All experiences are polar in nature because they arise from vibrations, which are inherently two-state.
