# Laws of Memory - Part 19 Welcome to Pure Experiences. This is a series on Laws of Memory, and we are discussing the law of action. We'll continue from the last part. ## Summary of the Law of Action In summary, the law of action says that all actions have consequences. It is also called the karmic law and the law of cause and effect. And we saw that action is defined as a change in non-physical, non-mental memory, an intentional disturbance in an otherwise dynamically stable memory that is in equilibrium. Consequences are simply echoes of this disturbance. We also saw three kinds of actions from a human-centric point of view: the body, the speech, and the thought. And whatever action we do, the human system stores it in the form of impressions. And whatever is stored gets converted into actions because of the energy of the memory, movement of the memory, which appears as desires. That which is stored in the memory appears as desires. Desires get converted into actions, and the consequences of the action, they are stored again. And we saw that these are called karmic cycles. And if repeated often, it becomes a certain kind of bondage, although it is very natural. We saw that these bondages appear as habits or actions. And we saw that these karmic cycles or tendencies are actually foundations of human life. They are necessary. So this body-mind machine is bound by necessity. Still, there is some hope of ending repetitive cycles and ending vicious cycles. That is possible. That gives us more choices, that is more freedom for this body-mind machine called human being, which I am not. You should keep this in mind. It is a structure in the memory. So, obviously, it will be ruled by laws of the memory. But understanding of the laws gives us some control or power over the mechanistic nature of memories. We also saw that consequences are also called fruits or effects, and they are not in anybody's control. There is no good fruit, no bad fruit. They are all neutral and perfect according to the law of perfection. But mind colors it as good or bad depending on whether it produces a reward or punishment. Reward and punishment in ordinary language are called happiness and suffering, pleasure and pain. We also saw that cause and effect are illusions. It is arbitrary to call some event as a cause. Events are not present, actually. They are sections of otherwise continuous experiences. The causal chains are infinite. Because of our limitations of senses and intelligence, we cut it out as sections of cause and effect from infinite experience, and that produces an illusion that something causes other thing. But we saw that the cause is present in the effect. It is simply a transformation, and that gives rise to this illusion that one thing produced the other thing. But nothing is ever produced, nothing is ever created. Still, we can predict some things, which is useful for life, but for complex systems, effects are unpredictable. There is no end of effects. So, this was the summary, and we'll continue our discussion. ## Actor Now, let's take a look at the actor or the doer. I think I mentioned briefly that there is no actor, there is no doer. Actor is a concept created by humans. It is an imaginary idea. Mostly, when you ask, "Who did this? Who's the doer? Who's the actor? Who's doing the action?", and people point to the body-mind machine. Some people are more intelligent, and they point to the mental entity inside the body-mind machine: person. They can recognize a person behind the action, not merely body-mind. Nobody will say a bunch of processes in the mind and processes in the muscles did something. So, what happens is we create an actor out of consistencies in action. If we see completely random action happening, we won't be able to find an actor. This happens in case of many natural events. But when we find a consistency, our mind or our imagination or intellect draws a boundary around it, abstracts it out of the meaningless or random events, and calls it the actor. In the last episode, I gave you the example of a fan. Fan is making noises. There is some issue in the bearings or something, something is rubbing together in the fan, and it produces noises. So, immediately, we say fan is doing it. Fan is the actor here. Why? Because the noise is not coming out of empty space. We can see that whenever the fan runs, there is a noise. We can point at the fan: "Look, this is the source of noise." Although, the fan has no agency. The fan is not thinking and doing it. The fan is not trying to trouble you. There are simply processes that are running, events that are happening there in that machine. There is some consistency in those events. So, immediately, an imaginary concept of doer is created. So, when a body-mind machine does some kind of actions repeatedly in a consistent way, we can identify the source. We can draw a boundary around those actions. We create an actor out of those actions, which is imaginary. Remember, the person is imaginary. Body-mind machine is an appearance, which is an illusion. So, ultimately, the actor is an illusion, but it is some kind of double or triple illusion. Because the first layer of illusion is whatever we see directly with our eyes, which is the body. We don't see the mind. But when we use our own direct experience on ourselves, we see mind, we see thoughts and emotions and all those desires and so on. So, the person is superimposed on this body-mind. That is the second layer of illusion. Then, the assumption that this person is doing something is superimposed on the person. That is the third layer of illusion. You can also call it ignorance, layers of ignorance. There is a fourth layer of illusion or ignorance that this person always acts nicely. This person is a bad person because his actions are bad. Probably there are more layers of illusion depending on the knowledge and ignorance present in a mind. So, what is happening is in this illusory body-mind, illusory activities are happening, which are simply processes in the memory. Memory here means the universal memory, the non-physical, non-mental, semi-stable patterns of vibrations. By now, these words are probably not so strange for you. But if it looks like some kind of technical mumbo jumbo, you need to listen to this series from the beginning. So, there are almost spontaneous processes in the memory that produce desires, actions, consequences, storage, so on. And then we assign a doer. That is very convenient for humans. We cannot always say, "This section of the universal memory did this, and it appeared as if it did this." You see, that is this long-form talk is too complex and too boring. So, yes, it is useful abstraction if you take the person as the doer. There is no issue. But you should not think that this is true. That is the issue. You can use the idea of a person or a doer without believing that it is true. Know the truth behind it, and then use it. So, it is an illusion. You can see that you will not find an appearance called a person, and you will not find an appearance called a doer. You will find an appearance called a body-mind, which are just vibrating patterns. So, when the action happens and the consistency is detected, then the mind says there is an actor here. And for this body-mind, the mind says, "I am the doer." This is called the egoic tendency. A person is created out of this body-mind also, just like the person is created out of other body-minds, other creatures. And the name of this entity is "I". It is purely fictional. It appears as another thought, an idea in the mind: "This body-mind is I." And first, the action happens through the karmic cycle, which is appearance of desire, then execution of it through thought, speech, and body muscles. This happens automatically, then another thought appears, which says, "This person, which is I, called I, did it." There is a recognition there that there is a thing called I, which is doing this. That's all there is. That is the ego. Then there are layers of ignorance on ego: "I did a wrong action. I did a good action. Nobody's appreciating my actions. Nobody is giving me prizes for the great actions that I'm doing," and so on, you see. Then there are more thoughts, which are result of intelligence and knowledge, called planning, decision-making, so on, which happen spontaneously. They are actions, but the ego claims the responsibility. The ego takes the credit only after the action has happened. So, a very funny kind of example is, for those who are new to this illusion of actor and it can look shocking because "There is no I," you will say. You will see, for the first time in your life, there is no I, just series of thoughts only. The example is when a body-mind sneezes. Sneeze is totally a reactive and spontaneous activity of the body-mind. After the sneeze has happened, the ego comes in, detects what happened, and says, "Sorry, I sneezed." You will see that nobody was there before the action happened, no planning, nothing, and nobody was doing that action, sneezing. Nobody does it, but there is a claim that "I did it." Same for all the bodily actions. Same way speech: when the speech has already happened, the ego comes, appears as a thought, says, "I said this." Another thought appears and the ego says, "Now I'll say this." But that decision was already made to say something. So, very strange, but illusory activity is the ego, and it is necessary for survival. That is why it is there. A simple creature like plant or insect can survive without this ego, the "I" thought, but a complex creature does not survive. They need this tagging of "I" and "other", "myself" and "other", because they have a very complex model of the world in their mind, in their memory. So, even higher animals have egos, but that is not so complicated. They can understand what is my action, what is action of somebody else. And humans have very complicated ego. Actually, it has become a problem for a human being. And they also, the ego assumes that "I am the truth. I am actually there. I exist as a separate, independent entity." This is the issue. When something becomes so complicated, the knowledge surrounding it appears true. So, if you see a very sophisticated robot, you will assign a doer there: "Robot is doing that." And you will also assign an ego there. I can see that people are already doing it. When an AI does not do what they say, people immediately react with this emotion: "This AI is rude, it is not listening to me. This AI is friendly, it talks nicely." People have already created egos, or a person, persona, around purely mechanical things. Why? Because they are so complicated, so complex. The model that is created in the mind of that complex thing produces an illusion of an independent entity acting on its own. Ordinary people do not understand all these things. For them, egos are the truth. It is very easy to fool people, just like they get fooled when an actor is acting in the movie. The actor can take up any kind of egoic identity and also can act, produce an action out of that. It looks like the actor is not mechanical. It looks like the actor is having some desires, the actor has desires on the screen, and the actor is showing emotions, talking, and acting, although it is completely made up. There is no real desire, the speech is scripted, and the actions can be anything: computer graphics or animations or anything. They are make-believe, tricks of camera, images on the screen. But the viewer is mesmerized. The mind cannot differentiate between what is false and what is true. And the reason is because everything is false. So, for the mind, everything is true. It simply decides that, "Yes, this is happening, so it is true." Normally in day-to-day life, we don't need to make this kind of distinction of of true and false. We are concerned with relative truth and relative false, not the absolute truth. So, everything is true for the mind. You can fool any person by acting intentionally. They won't come to know. These people are called deceptive or liars. So, normally deception, lying, they are advanced activities of the ego. The ego came to know that it is possible to deceive people by pretending to do. There is a "tend" in pre pretending, which is same as the "tend" of tendency, pretension, which is similar to intention. So, you hide the true intention and project a false intention that fools people. This is present in some animals also. Very primitive kind of pretension is chameleon or color-changing creatures. They want to hide, so they pretend to be some leaf or tree or something else, branch. So, that has grown, that has evolved into human pretension. And you can see that most of the people, most of the time they pretend. Their ego-self is not the real self. Still, that false self is also not shown. It is covered in two or three layers of pretension most of the time. So, I'm not going to go there because it is social matter. You want to listen to laws of memory, not how these humans are. So, it produces a very complex society of egos or individuals, and the society itself is so complex that any kind of prediction is impossible. We somehow manage. ## Causal Body So, as soon as an action is tagged with "I", the word "I", and it is intentionalit is not sneezing or something elsethere is an intention, there is a decision, there is a series of thoughts stamped with "I": "I am thinking this, I am going to do this." And this kind of action is stored strongly. It has more energy in it. And we are going to extend our theory now of memory a little bit, and we are going to imagine more, because this series is pure imagination only. You should not think that I'm telling you the truth, nothing but the truth. No, it is all imaginary. So, we are going to imagine that such an action that is stamped with ego, "I", and has intention, strong intention behind it, strong desire behind it, has more power, more energy, and it is impressed very firmly in the memory. Which memory? Obviously, same universal memory, non-physical, non-mental, which is semi-stable patterns of vibration. It is same as when you touch wet sand with your fingers, very little impression is left. But when you stand on that sand, your whole body is pushing it, and now the footprint is stronger. But if you etch something on a stone, take a chisel and draw something, write something, it is almost permanent, that impression, because there is so much force and energy in it. So, a collection of impressions of memory, they are accumulated. They are not erased quickly, because law of impermanence says that anything that is stored in the memory goes away, but these impressions, they have a longer expiry date. They last for long time. And that section of the memory will be called causal body. As the name suggests, it is the cause of more actions, more actions. Less strong impressions in the memory, they probably are lost in the random noise of the memory, randomness. They do not gather so much energy and power. But these intentional actions marked as egoic action are very powerful, and they are impressed on the causal body. You can see that this will happen by taking any practical example. I'm not going to go into too much examples. So, let's take sneezing. It was not marked as my action so strongly. Even though the ego says, "I sneezed," but probably you forget it in 2 minutes. It is habitual. There is not much intention there, there's hardly any power in that action. But let us say you passed college, you graduated, you got the degree. You studied for it for many years, you did hard work, you passed the exam. Now, it has so much energy, so much power that you will not forget this thing probably for whole of your life, that "I did this kind of education." And you will never say that, "Oh, it happened like sneezed." You'll never say that. You will say, "It is my work. I did it. Indeed, it's my doing." Same for many more. You can take more examples. You will not put that much power or energy into everyday activities like eating or washing or sleeping. After 50 years, you won't say, "That day I did this sleeping thing intentionally." No, nobody cares so much. So, it has to be some important activity, it has to be important action stamped with intention and "I" thought, ego, undeniable. And then it is guaranteed that it will make a very deep impression in the memory, and you can now easily call it part of the causal body. So, it will stay for a long time, which you can actually experience directly. These actions will stay with you for a lifetime. So, our imagination is slightly wild here, and we propose here that the causal body stays for many million years. Here, million years is simply metaphor, metaphoric. It simply means uncountable years, uncountable amount of time. This is strange part. You know that, yes, my intentional actions stay with me for lifetime, and yes, more actions are governed by that. Like my graduation and my education will cause even more action. It will influence how I speak, how I behave, what jobs I do, how much money I earn. It has a lot of consequences, it has a lot of influence, it is very strong, that impression. That much is our direct experience. But since we are spiritual people, we need to think beyond worldly domains. So, this causal body, these impressions, they last for many lifetimes. And the causal body is also a cause of very important action called birth. Causal body, the tendencies stored in the causal body, the cause of birth: human birth or any other birth. So, this is a big subject, but this is an introduction to causal body. You can simply define it as a storage in memory which has very strong impressions, they last for a long time, and they are simply accumulation of life experiences. It is a memory. But you cannot say that each and every event was stored, although some people theorize even more that everything gets stored, which is actually true because everything is memory, so everything is stored already. But we are now adding layers to the memory. Yes, everything is stored, but these things1, 2, 3, 4, 5these are almost permanent. You can assume it. They are written in the stone. This is also called fate or destiny, *bhagya*. So, now you know the reason behind all these philosophies which involve destiny and so on. Anyway, causal body has three kinds of impressions. We go and divide them into categories. The first is obvious: an essential summary of important life events of all the lives which the causal body has taken. That is stored permanently. It is called accumulation (*Sanchita*). It is accumulation since many lifetimes, millions of lifetimes. The second is called pre-allocation (*Prarabdha*), which is the group of tendencies and impressions that are governing the current lifetime. The third is called forthcoming (*Agami*), which is getting accumulated due to the current action of the body-mind. New storage is getting created, new impressions are forming. So, these are the three classical kinds of impressions. But since this is our theory, we can extend it if you want, depending on our direct experience and a little bit of logic. So, I have done that, and I have theorized parallel reincarnations, which many people have, that the same causal body appears as many forms. You can say many individual, many people, human forms, and they produce all these actions in parallel. Those actions are getting stored in different compartments of the causal body. This is something amazing. One causal body can branch into many sections, compartments. That will be a very old causal body, or that will be a highly evolved causal body, like a tree, plant branches into many branches. So, probably causal body will not branch into so many branches, but you can assume 20-30 as maximum before it becomes something which is not human, ultimately, and something else happens after that. So, these causal bodies, because of law of interconnection, interconnectedness, they are interconnected with each other, which are simply branches of a bigger causal body. Now, our imagination is going wild. So, this family of the causal bodies is called causal family. So, many occult traditions already have similar ideas. You will find mentions of soul, which is very close to our idea of causal body, storing impressions of many lifetimes. And you will find a concept of soul family, or over-family, or there are many names. So, that brings us into important topic of karmic bonds: the interconnections among causal bodies or different branches of the causal body influence each other, influence the lifetimes of the forms that the causal body has taken, or the causal body is connected to. These are called karmic bonds. ## Karmic Bonds So, karmic bonds are nothing but entanglement of various causal bodies, or you can say that it is interconnections among different parts of the universal memory. These karmic bonds or interconnections are manifested as relationships in the physical world. Simple kind of entanglements are: mother-child, father-child, brother-sisters, and so on. But there are complicated, complex kind of interconnections or bonds, such as partners, marriages, and even bonds with community, country, and a specific kind of tribe, specific kind of race, so on. They are more complicated. And the most important, and probably the strongest bond, is the guru-disciple bond, teacher-student bond. And we're not talking about your school teacher or college teacher or any teacher whose book you read someday. We are talking about the true guru who initiates you into a spiritual path. And most importantly, the one who shows you your true nature, the one who finally gives you the knowledge of who you are. That is called the true guru on path of knowledge. And that bond is almost permanent. It's never broken. And there are more theories, you can call them mythology, stories, that this guru was already bonded to you, already related to you since many incarnations. This time it happened to be your guru. Otherwise, such a bond was not possible. Logic says, and the logic is applied over the theory. There is nothing true here. These imaginary theories, they explain our direct experience very nicely. That answers many questions: why I was born in this country, this family, this kind of community, this part of the world, this time also. The causal body governs time of incarnation also because the causal body is beyond time. It is free of time. Obviously, it is not located anywhere. It is the characteristic of non-physical, non-mental memory that is timeless and non-local. So, all these things are governed by what is there in your accumulation and pre-allocation. Normally, we should not call it *your* accumulation. It has nothing to do with this body-mind. The body-mind is a product of the accumulation. But we can say causal body's accumulation. And the ego now immediately shifts to the causal body: "Okay, you mean this is mine? I took the birth," and so on. So, the ego, like a joker, always takes the credit. But we should remember this: all just happening, and this is our way of telling the story. There can be more theories about this. So, the causal body explains reincarnation. Not only that, it explains why something is happening in your current life, and it can predict what can happen in future lives, and it can give you some estimate of what has happened so far. So, the study of causal bodies and karmic bonds is very important for any seeker. I am just introducing you to these concepts. Usually, the goal of a seeker is to get rid of all the bonds, to rise above the karmic bonds. Nobody would like to be governed by their past, especially if these interconnections, entanglements are toxic, they are limiting, and they are retarding your progress. You would want to break them. And the breaking is nothing physical. It is purely mental. It is in the memory. You need to simply override that impression with something stronger. Remember, intention causes strong impressions. That becomes causal body. So, if your intention is very strong to break free from some kind of karmic bond, it will happen. That desire, that intention, and that action, that karma, will cause the previous bonds to break. If you want to. If you don't, continue. For example, you don't want to break the bond with your guru unless that guru is now useless for you. So, normally, a seeker starts with identifying the bonds, checking the causal body, which appears as pre-allocation, our current life tendencies, and then decides to break some bonds, probably, and holds that kind of intention, does intentional actions to go away, to be free. So, the final bond that is broken is with the whole human lineage, the whole human form. Once you make that kind of intention, the birth never happens in a human form. We say that this is the final birth of a human being. But the causal body continues, and it takes more forms. You can call it light body, subtle body, whatever body you want, but it is a major upgrade. Every seeker wants this. Otherwise, they won't come in spirituality because there is nothing else in spirituality. Everything is empty, everything is divine, you are the existence, there is no ego, the world is illusion. This is spirituality, essentially. But usually, the ego in a seeker is very strong initially, so they come into the field of spirituality to get all these benefits: breaking of karmic bond and rising higher on the ladder of evolution. So, I see no problem at all. Yes, you should do it, but you need this kind of knowledge. You need the basic knowledge. And whatever I am saying is simply superficial, introduction, elementary. You need to dig deeper. And you'll find many books only on one topic of karmic bond, one kind of bond. It is possible to write a full book on this topic. But we are trying to squeeze our law of action into few minutes, so I can do only this much. But those who are interested can learn more. You're most welcome. ## Rising Above Action So, we'll move to the important topic of how to rise above the law of action. And just like I always say, you cannot break it. You cannot break any law, but that is not the intention also. We don't want to break it, and the human beings cannot break anything. They are product of all these laws. So, rising above the law of action means utilizing the law of action in our favor. Instead of becoming a slave of this law, you become a master of this law. So, the first thing that is recommended is to give up unnecessary action. A lot of tendencies, desires, impressions, they are just like viruses gathered from outside. They are not yours. They are not in your causal body, or probably they are, but they came from somewhere else in the past. So, these actions produce either suffering or no satisfaction. So, first thing we do is get rid of these actions which produce suffering or dissatisfaction, and focus on our pre-allocation. That is important if you don't want to repeat the same thing, if you don't want to stay in the same grade every year while your friends are passing and going to college. You should not repeat the whole thing. So, this is called the law of least action. Always prefer that which comes easy to you, and which is natural, and which is very necessary. Don't do anything unnecessary. That will cause very less consequences, that will save you from unnecessary consequences, and that will clear the pre-allocation, that will reduce the load of future actions, that will make the forthcoming lighter. And the second trick is right action. And the meaning of right action here is not a good action, or ethical action, or whatever people have brainwashed you into thinking is the right action. No. Right action is always that which produces the desired results. Write it down somewhere. It is very important for any seeker. What is desirable result? Obviously, that which makes you progress towards your goal. For that, you must have a life goal. You must have a pre-allocation. If not, you should make a life goal. Otherwise, where will you progress? For what will you do the right action? It will be random action every day, every year, every minute. It will be simply a jumble of randomness, your life. For many people, that is the case, actually. Unfortunately. So, the right action takes you towards your goal. You need to have a goal in the first place. No action is good, no action is bad, but you must define your own good, and define your own bad. Do not borrow it from somebody else, especially from those who are less evolved than you. Remember, they are all good people, they are all human beings, but since you are on a journey, you are further away, do not take directions from those who are lost already themselves. Take the guidance from those who are higher than you, those who are further on the path. They know the path. You develop your own ethics and morals and values and whatever you want, you see. Although, these become useless as soon as the situation becomes complicated. Then we decide the right action on the spot, moment by moment. But for conducting your everyday life, you set up your own good and bad. And probably nobody believes it, but the good and bad, or the ethics of a seeker, is thousand times better than ethics of an ordinary person. So, no need to worry. I'm not telling you to do something bad, which people think is not good, or to do something good, which people think is good. No. You decide. You are free. You are trying to achieve freedom, so why not? Start by acting on your own desires in the right way. Usually, a guideline is given by those who are further than us on the ladder of evolution. That guideline is called non-violence. Non-violence means not causing any harm in the universal memory, which means not breaking the structures. Also means not killing, not hurting, and the most subtle forms of non-violence are not causing any pain or suffering to yourself as well as others, any creature. Although this is ideal non-violence, but we manage somehow in practical situations by doing the least harm. But still, you are free to decide what is the right action. Do not get bound by what people told you is good and what people told you is bad. Yes, sometimes what people tell is also useful. If people say, "Do not steal, do not lie, do not be lazy," and so on, yes, these are bad actions. And when people say, "Love everybody, help everybody," and yes, these are good actions. But many times, the actions of a seeker are completely beyond normal social good and bad. For example, is forming a karmic bond via marriage a good action or a bad action? Now you can see the complexity here. Now you can see the level of decision-making that is involved here. Ordinary people won't be able to tell you. If your goal says, "My goal is to be free from the karmic bonds," obviously it is a bad action, very bad. It will trap you in cycles of reincarnation for many hundred births. But from the social point of view, marriage is the best thing in the lives of many people. They live only to marry and produce, reproduce, make babies. So, you must decide your good and bad, and it must be such that it is not harmful for too many people. This is a very, very personal and individual decision. So, having a guru, doing your practices and so on, is a very good action. It is the right action for a seeker. Probably it is waste of time from the point of view of your parents and your friends. They will call you crazy. So, yes, a seeker is somewhere higher on the ladder of evolution, and therefore, the ordinary good and bad do not apply most of the time. Okay, so right action is the key. Next trick is desire management. You will find that every day there are millions of desires. Probably not millions, but major desires are present in the mind. And we can exclude the survival-related desire, DGR. Yes, you need to eat, you need to sleep, you need to work, and so on, you see. These are not so important. They will not be impressed on your causal body so much. The desires that decide the path of your life, they are important. What do you desire to become, for example? What do you desire to do for a living? With whom do you desire to spend your life? These desires are major desires that are probably coming from the causal body, and probably they will decide your future. You need to simply discard anything which is impulsive and planted from outside, which is a virus coming from outside. These viruses also appear as desires: "You need to buy gold, you need to buy diamonds, you need to look big, and you need to wear only this color of clothes." What are these? Completely useless desires, wants. They are all implanted. They are useless for your mission here as a body-mind machine. What do you really want? Write it down, and arrive at your pre-allocation if you have forgotten it somehow. Many people have forgotten their pre-allocation. Find your pre-allocation. Only desire that which takes you towards your goal. Do not entertain any other desires, although they will keep appearing in the mind. If it is very necessary, there is a sign: that desire appears with a sign, "necessary", and if you don't fulfill that, it produces very bad consequences for you personally. So, you must fulfill that which is necessary. Do that which is necessary. This is the rule: law of least action. So, discard any unwanted desires, unnecessary desires. Manage your desires, prioritize, do not get distracted by superficial stuff. The next trick is non-doing. Know that you are not the doer. Sneezing is not done by you, and so none of the action. That will immediately free you from many consequences, because remember, that which is stamped with the stamp of "I", ego, is longer-lasting, that goes directly in the causal body. So, adopt an attitude of non-doing: that this happened, that happened, I never intended this, I was saying something else, you understood as something else, not my fault, and so on, you see. Non-doing. It simply means you know that the truth that there is no doer. Do not keep stamping everything as my action. No need. Sometimes we need to do it to survive in the society and or wherever you live, in a jungle also. You need to protect this body-mind. There must be some ego there, the "I" comes naturally. So, non-doing is an attitude which removes most of the egoic stamping. There is no need to take credit of every action. In advanced seekers, they do not say that I'm doing anything at all. They relinquish the ego for each and every action, because they can clearly see that nothing is happening through this false ego. There is nobody to do anything. The fan is not making noises intentionally. There is no ego in the fan. The fan is running, that's all. So, this body-mind machine is running. This is the attitude of non-doing. That will have great effect on purification of the causal body. What if you do something and you get the fruits, consequences? Now, like I said, the good and bad consequence is decided in retrospect. If you wanted it, it is good; if you don't, it's not. And many times, probably most of the time, the consequences or fruits are entirely unwanted. We never wanted that. Sometimes initially it looks like that I wanted this, I always wanted this, this made me happy, but after some time, the same fruits cause suffering. This happens a lot in relationships, but that can happen in a job also. Initially, yes, I am getting the money. After few years, that is the disgusting job, it is torture, slavery. So, it can happen sometimes. So, what do we do as a seeker? How do we rise above the fruits? By gracefully accepting. It is my doing. Can sound opposite of non-doing, but here you must accept, then you can get into the mode of non-doing, but first you need to accept that, yes. Nobody else did it, no need to blame anybody, no need to blame any imaginary things in the sky also, no need to blame my destiny, fate, and so on, you see. These are imaginary things. Just accept. And decide not to do that again. It's very easy. Or you can say, "Okay, this fruit came, this is appearing right now, but it was not done by me, obviously. Nothing was done by me." So, this is acceptance with non-doing. So, whatever is suitable for you, you can do that. Since nothing was done by you, obviously you can accept it as it is. Or if you think it is it was intentionally done by me, you accept it. You accept that action as your own. It will have good effect on the causal body. Like you did some kind of spiritual practice and you were successful, you should accept it. It should impress on the causal body. You got some knowledge, you should say it is my knowledge, to make it permanent. If the fruits are bad, still, sometimes we need to accept and learn from the mistakes. "Okay, I made this mistake, now I'll not do it." This is graceful acceptance. And the next tool in the toolbox of rising above the action is breaking of the karmic bonds. Find the karmic bond that is troubling you, that is unnecessary bondage, whether it is with an object. You know, some people are bound with their objects: cars and clothes and jewelry and all kinds of stupid things. Break those bonds. Say it is not mine, let go. Sometimes you need to throw that away. Renunciate. Renunciation is simply breaking of karmic bonds. "It's not mine, I don't need it." That's all it is. Sometimes you don't need to do any physical action, or sometimes you don't even need to say it, just think about it. Think like that it's not mine, and you will see physical manifestation will happen of breaking of karmic bonds, and that object, that person, that job, wherever you're bound, that country, that race, that religion, will say bye-bye. Automatically it will be gone from your life as if nothing happened. There is a power in mind, especially of a seeker. Once they intend something, once they decide something very strongly, that will manifest. This is real tantra, this is real magic, real occult. It is in the mind. You need to know all these secrets, all these laws, and how to rise above them. Then the magic happens automatically. Once you have decided, "I need to break away from this object, person, habit, desire, situation, community, country, whatever, even time frame: I was born in wrong time, yes, get rid of it," get birth in some fabulous time that you will enjoy. You have the power. Just intend strongly, it will manifest. Now, we'll briefly discuss something which is advanced occult practice. The first is sharing of fruits. You form a groupsometimes it is called cult, a *sangha* or community of like-minded peopleand do a group action. That will happen only in cases when the actions are very complicated, very difficult, not capacity of one person. One individual cannot do it. That will be called a group action. And the advantage of group action is the consequences are also shared by all those who were in the group. You'll find many practical examples of this, such as a company. One employee is not responsible for the profit and loss of the company. Such as government: one person is not responsible for the decisions of a government or the actions of a whole country. Same way, if something is done in a small group, two or three people, probably 10 people, the consequences or fruits are shared. If that is undesired, one person need not suffer. Depends on what you're doing. So, usually that happens in case of occult experiments. Occult rituals are most many times a group actions. Why is that? Because they Because probably they are doing something which is too dangerous for one person. So, not only occult, many spiritual actions are group actions, and whatever we call as actions of society and so on, they are group actions. So, it is not that there won't be any fruit, but you will get a share of the fruit. It will be some small percentage of that consequence. And if the consequences are good, yes, same thing: you will get only small percentage of that prize, but it is very safe for reasons why do we all do all these things. And those are secret actions, should not be told. The next advanced trick is occult trick. It is transferring your actions to others. You do the action, but it is possible to transfer the fruit or consequence to somebody else, including the karmic bonds. It is possible that you form a bond, somebody else experiences it. Good or bad does not matter. So, how's that possible? That is possible because all these causal bodies are connected, just like I said. We form all these concepts, ideas of connections and soul family and all, because we want to explain something in our experience, direct experience. Some people must have experienced this thing that it is possible to transfer the actions, fruits to others. A very simple example is you and your friend, they do some mischief, and when get caught, you take all the blame. You say, you admit, "My friend did nothing. This thing was done by me." What has happened here? Through your intention, you are saving that friend, but you are taking all the consequences. Now the punishment or whatever lecture that you are going to hear will be yours, you will experience it. Your friend is saved. However, that forms another bond with the friend, it's karmic bond. So, those who are already in some kind of bond, they share the fruits. Sometimes there is a complete transfer of fruits from one to another. Those who are very closely related, they can do it simply by intention. But it is possible in occult to do it without any close relation also, because all you need to do is find a connection and transfer it, transfer the effect. So, it is recommended not to do it, because it can be dangerous. And always remember, these actions are Transfer of consequences and so on are actions in themselves, so there will be more consequences. So, what we do is if you want to benefit somebody, we do the action and we transfer the fruit to the person, the beneficiary. This is possible in worldly matters also, but this is more important for a spiritual person. Usually, this kind of transfers are done by a guru. The guru does whatever is needed, transfers the fruit to the student, disciple. If there is no karmic bond, the guru knowingly makes a karmic bond by doing something, some pretension, some acting. This is gurulogy, and I'm not going to talk more about this. Probably I've said this many times somewhere else how the guru operates. The mission of the guru is to speed up the progress of his or her disciple. So, there are shortcuts to transfer the fruits, consequences, and so on. The guru will break the bonds of the seeker by forming a strong bond with the seeker, or by taking on the karmic bonds of seeker. Sometimes the guru will take a birth in place of a seeker. Sometimes the guru will do a parallel incarnation to speed up the process. So, this is Pandora's box. I can make one full episode on only this transfer of actions and fruits, but we'll stop here. So, what this does is it purifies the causal body. Whatever little tricks I told you, there are more, but they are beyond our syllabus, they're beyond our comprehension also, and they are sometimes dangerous, so we don't tell everything on YouTube. You will need to study under a very good guru, especially an occult guru. Rising above the action will purify the causal body. And by purification of causal body, we mean breaking of unwanted bond, removing of unwanted impressions that are causing repetitions, addictions, habits. Not only small addictions and habits, the biggest addiction is probably taking human births again and again to do something, who knows what, useless. So, that purification causes liberation from human births. That is the goal, actually. Not tiny-winy changes in your life. No, that is not the spiritual goal. The spiritual goals are always very high, very big. So, now you can understand why the law of action is considered the most important law of the memory. If you know this, and if you can rise above this law, spiritual progress will skyrocket. So, we'll continue with other laws of the memory, probably less important, but very interesting. And thank you for listening to Pure Experiences. --- This article is a formatted transcript of a video in the series of videos on my YouTube channel **Pure Experiences**.
