Ignorant describes a person who lacks knowledge and is unaware of their lack.

On the path of knowledge, the ignorant person:

• Has many beliefs but no knowledge

• Is closed to new understanding

• Assumes they know when they do not

• Suffers from the consequences of ignorance

The opposite of ignorance is not knowledge but innocence - the open state of not knowing without the arrogance of assumed knowledge.
