The subject (Skt. विषयी, Vishayi) is that which perceives or experiences.

On the path of knowledge, the subject is:

• The experiencer - that which is aware

• Not separate from the object in ultimate reality

• Part of the subject-object duality that is transcended in nonduality

The experiencer is not a subject opposed to objects - it is the existence itself.
