Hermeticism

Hermeticism is a philosophical and esoteric tradition based on the writings attributed to Hermes Trismegistus.

On the path of knowledge, Hermeticism is relevant because it shares some principles:
  • The principle of mentalism - "The All is Mind"
  • The principle of correspondence - "As above, so below"
  • The principle of vibration - "Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates"
  • The principle of polarity - "Everything is dual; everything has poles"
  • The principle of rhythm - "Everything flows, out and in"
  • The principle of cause and effect - "Every cause has its effect"
  • The principle of gender - "Gender is in everything"
These principles have parallels in the path of knowledge teachings on vibration, duality, and cause and effect. Hermeticism is one of several traditions that point toward the same nondual truth.
