Patience (Skt. धैर्य,
Dhairya) is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
On the
path of knowledge, patience is:
- Trust in the natural unfolding of understanding
- Recognition that knowledge matures in its own time
- Freedom from the urgency of desire
The path requires patience because
ignorance accumulated over a lifetime cannot be removed overnight.
