Space (Skt. आकाश, Akasha) is the dimension in which objects and events appear to be located.

On the path of knowledge, space is understood as:

• A concept derived from experience, not an independent reality

• A product of memory and the arrangement of patterns

• Part of the illusion - it is not found in existence itself

• Relative - dependent on the state of consciousness

• The existence is not located in space - space appears within existence

Perception of space varies across states of consciousness. In dreaming, space is created by the mind. In deep sleep, there is no sense of space.
