Relative Knowledge

Relative knowledge is a kind of knowledge.

When the logical relations in memory that constitute the knowledge are valid only in a specific context or under specific situations, we call it relative knowledge.

Examples:

  • First January is the new year day. (Holds only for a specific calendar.)
  • My school is best in the town. (Limited to an area)
  • Matter is made of atoms. (Limited to a hypothesis)

Relative knowledge is very helpful for survival but fails when we do a deeper investigation into the nature of experience, where it turn into mere ignorance.
