An Experiment is a deliberate, systematic, and conscious procedure carried out to verify or falsify a theory, hypothesis, or spiritual teaching against direct experience.

Science and the Path of Knowledge

• Verifiable Study: Just like physical science, the path of knowledge is a highly practical and systematic study of reality. It completely rejects blind beliefs and encourages rigorous experimentation.

• Falsifying the False: A seeker does not assume that a teaching is true simply because it is written in a book or said by an authority. They design experiments to test the validity of claims, using sound logic to weed out illusions and recognize ignorance.

• The Experimenter is the Subject: In physical science, the experimenter observes external objects. On the Path of Knowledge, the experimenter and the subject of the experiment are the same one's own body-mind mechanism and consciousness.

Experimental States

Seekers are trained to maintain awareness and conduct experiments across various states of memory:

• Waking State: Sharpening attention and practicing abiding.

• Dreaming State: Becoming lucid to recognize the creative power of memory.

• Projected State: Exploring non-local and non-physical regions of the universal memory.

• Deep Sleep State: Witnessing the peaceful, empty background of pure potential.
