Spiritual Evolution (also called
Ripening) is the natural, inevitable process by which the
mind releases its false
identifications and returns to the direct recognition of the
self. On the
path of knowledge, this evolution is understood as a backward process — a journey of going back home.
The Process of Ripening
- Natural Trajectory: There is a natural evolution from the depths of ignorance toward knowing. The mind (the complex of memory patterns) is destined to go through these steps of evolution to align itself with the universal memory.
- A Backward Journey: Unlike physical evolution, which builds up complexity, spiritual evolution is a process of unlearning and letting go. The seeker leaves behind everything they have accumulated. It is like waking up from an imaginary dream of ignorance and remembering what was always there. It is the Self remembering itself.
- Balanced Acceleration: As the seeker gains essential knowledge, their intelligence and awareness increase. This creates a snowball effect, accelerating the evolution of the causal body and purifying the lower layers of the body-mind complex.
- The Final Step: Spiritual evolution culminates in liberation — the state where the mind is completely dis-identified with all memories, and the causal body dissolves or merges back into the universal, non-dual conscious Presence.
