Communication on the Path

• The primary purpose of communication on the path is the removal of ignorance not persuasion, entertainment, or social bonding.

• A teacher must be able to communicate complex, subtle ideas about the nature of experience and the self in a way that the seeker can directly understand.

• Listening is the first of the three core practices (listening, contemplation, abiding) without the ability to receive knowledge, no progress is possible.

Qualities of Good Communication

• Clarity and precision spiritual concepts must be defined clearly to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.

• Logical consistency teachings must be logically coherent and verifiable through direct experience.

• Adaptability the same teaching may need to be communicated differently depending on the seeker's level of understanding and background.

• Honesty the teacher must communicate only what they have directly known, not what they have heard or believe.
