Real

The real (Skt. सत्य, Satya) is that which is true, unchanging, and eternal.

On the path of knowledge, the criteria for truth states that:
  • That which does not change is real
  • The experiencer is real, as it is the constant presence behind all changing experiences
The real is also described as:
  • That which has independent existence
  • That which remains when all that is non-essential is removed
All objects of experience are unreal because they are constantly changing. Only the nondual experiencer is ultimately real.
