A person is a human being considered as an individual with a distinct identity, personality, and consciousness.

On the path of knowledge, the concept of person is examined critically:

• The person is a collection of patterns in memory

• What is called "I" or "me" is an assemblage of thoughts, emotions, and desires

• The person is not the experiencer - it is an object of experience

• The sense of being a separate person is the root of ignorance

• Upon self realisation, the person is seen as an appearance in experience

The person is part of name and form. It is a temporary configuration in existence, not the ultimate truth of what one is.
