Atmabodha Verse 62

श्लोक 62: ब्रह्म हर वस्तु में... अंदर और बाहर व्यापक है ।यह अपनी चेतना के प्रकाश में पूरे विश्व को प्रकाशित करता है। जैसे गली में लगे बल्ब का इससे कोई सरोकार नहीं है कि उसके प्रकाश में कौन, कैसे और क्या प्रकाशित हो रहा है । बस वह केवल प्रकाश फैलता है ।ठीक उसी तरह 'मेरे' प्रकाश में भी सब प्रकाशित होता है ।मन /बुद्धि भी मेरी चेतना में कार्यरत है। मन बुद्धि के संयोग के बिना 'मेरी' चेतना का प्रकाश केवल 'मैं' को प्रकाशित ही करता है। प्रकाश हर चीज को पूर्णतया प्रकाशित करता है। इस प्रकाश में कुछ भी अच्छा बुरा नहीं होता। अच्छे - बुरे का लेबल मन - बुद्धि के दायरे में आता है। प्रकाशित का अर्थ है- जानना । •"मैं "बुद्धि को प्रकाशित करता है। •"मैं" बुद्धि के जानने को जानता है। •"मैं " को चैतन्य कहा जाता है । इसलिए : "मैं दृष्टा हूं" । "मैं साक्षी हूं "। "मैं ब्रह्म हूं"। जो इन तीन अवस्थाओं (शरीर, जीव, ब्रह्म) के अस्तित्व को नहीं जानता ....वह जीव है । जो जीव को नहीं जानता वह केवल शरीर है । अधिकांश धर्म में यह माना जाता है कि मृत्यु के बाद भी कुछ है जो जीवित रहता है। कुछ लोग कहते हैं ...प्राण चले गये ,कुछ कहते हैं... कि जीव चला गया, कुछ कहते हैं... कि आत्मा चली गई। कुछ बिरले ही है ... जो प्रबुद्ध गुरु की संगत में है। वही यह एहसास कर पाते हैं कि वह जीव नहीं है। बल्कि वास्तविक आत्मा ही है । •मैं शरीर हूं से होते हुए •मैं जीव हूं •मैं आत्मा हूं और अंत में •मैं ही सर्वव्यापी ब्रह्मन हू। यह एक लम्बी यात्रा है । वह शक्ति जिसके द्वारा बुद्धि कार्यरत है और विवेकशील दृष्टिकोण अपनाती है.... वह स्वयं की शक्ति ही है । मेरा जानना बुद्धि के जानने से भिन्न है। यह निष्पक्ष प्रकाश की तरह है ...जो हर को प्रकाशित करता है- एक साक्षी है। आत्मा... शरीर, इंद्रियों ,मन बुद्धि -के विषय में सब जानती है। जब आत्मा हर चीज़ की ज्ञाता होती है.... तब उसे साक्षी भाव में देखा जाता है। परंतु जब आत्मा.... किसी भी प्रकाश के जानने में ...शामिल नहीं होती ...तो उसे आनंदमय , शाश्वत सर्वव्यापी , ब्रह्मन कहते हैं। Verse 62 Brahman pervades every thing, inside and outside, illuminating the entire world, with the light of its consciousness. When ‘my’ consciousness reaches the mind-intellect, they perform their respective functions. Without the association of mind-intellect, the light of ‘my’ consciousness illuminates ‘myself’. The one who is not aware of the three states of being - body, jiva, Brahman, is just a jiva and the one who doesn’t know the jiva is just a body. Most people believe that something lives on even after the death of the body. Some say prana continues, some say jiva continues. Only a few, who are in the company of an enlightened master realise that they are not the jiva either - they are the veritable Atman. It is a long journey from, ‘I am the body’ to ‘ I am the jiva’ to ‘I am the Atman’ and finally ‘I am the all-pervasive Brahman. My/Self’s knowing is different from the knowing of the intellect. It is like the unbiased light, illuminating every thing - a detached witness. The Self knows everything about the inert body, the inert senses, and the inert mind-intellect. When the Self/I is the knower of everything, it gets labelled as ‘Witness’. When Self/I not involved in any kind of knowing, then the Self/I is (ever-conscious, ever-blissful, eternal, all-pervading, absolute existence) the Brahman. The inert body-mind-intellect, on coming in contact with the sentient Self - the intellect starts deciphering; mind starts thinking and senses begin to see hear, smell, taste and feel. They seem sentient but they aren’t. Proximity with Self enables the feeling of ‘I know’ in the mind-intellect. ‘Self/Brahman/I’ am the substratum of prana too. It is the mind-intellect that reacts to the impulses coming from the sense organs. The knowing of mind-intellect is only possible because of the consciousness of the Self. The proximity of the mind-intellect to the sentient Self, makes one feel when the mind is happy or upset - he/she is happy or upset. The inert mind-intellect appears sentient because of its proximity to the Self. Irrespective of ones qualification or position, if one does not have the knowledge of the Self, the individual is ignorant.
