Atmabodha Verse 66

Verse 66 Just as smelting gold in a furnace frees it from the impurities, likewise the fire of knowledge will free an individual’s mind-intellect of all its impurities. Afflictions are present in all minds; no individual can claim to know everything. Layers and layers of impurities lie in the mind, in form of old samskaras, desires, attachments, aversions etc. These keep arising from time to time. To get rid of these flaws, one needs to focus on oneself and become aware of his/her own imperfections and inadequacies. The fire of knowledge will be ignited by REPEATED LISTENING, CONSISTENT CONTEMPLATION, with appropriate MEDITATIVE PRACTICES. No matter how bad a person may be, that individual’s substratum is Brahman. It is the mind that needs to be purified/ beautified - not the body, not the Atman श्लोक 66: जिस प्रकार सोने को भट्टी में गलाने से उसकी अशुद्धियों दूर होती है। ठीक उसी प्रकार , ज्ञान की अग्नि भी ....व्यक्ति के ...मन-बुद्धि को अशुद्धियों से मुक्त कर देगी। क्लेश सभी मनों में मौजूद हैं । कोई भी व्यक्ति सब कुछ जानने का दावा ही नहीं कर सकता। अशुद्धियों की परतें.... जैसे -पुराने संस्कार, इच्छाएँ, राग-द्वेष आदि... के रूप में मन में भरी पड़ी हैं, जो समय-समय पर उथल-पुथल करती रहती हैं। इन कमियों से छुटकारा पाने के लिए व्यक्ति को .....खुद पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने और अपनी कमजोरियों के प्रति जागरूक होने की जरूरत है। ज्ञान की अग्नि को प्रज्वलित करना होगा। इसके लिए *बार-बार श्रवण *लगातार चिंतन, *उचित ध्यान और अभ्यास करते रहना होगा। कोई भी व्यक्ति कितना भी बुरा क्यों न हो, उसका आधार एकमात्र ब्रह्म ही है। अतः ,यह मन ही है... जिसे शुद्ध/सुंदर बनाने की जरूरत है। शरीर और आत्मा को इसकी आवश्यकता नहीं है।
